League -  an association of states or organizations or individuals for common action
The State Defense Force League of America is an organization formed for the purpose of promoting State Defense Forces (32 USC 109) and Naval Militias (10 USC). It is a civilian organization dedicated to being a voice for the individual military members of the various State Defense Forces.

The
League functions as a lobby group to represent State Defense Force members before the federal and state governments. It also provides training and assistance to individual State Defense Force members.

The State Defense Force
League is not a branch of the military and does not enlist individuals into the military, undertake military missions, issue rank or uniforms. It is a civilian organization.

The State Defense Force
League is not a part of the federal government or a state government. The League does not create State Defense Forces, as only a state government may organize a State Defense Force.

The
League does not collect dues. It does not accept donations at this time. It may accept donations in the future. Donations sent now will be returned.

The State Defense Force
League of America, is also know as the State Defense Force League, the State Defense Force League of the United States, and the National State Defense Force League. It is also goes by the the nicknames of "The League",  the "SDFL", and "SDFL of A".
